Water, Fire & Light was first performed during the annual Burj Khalifa New Year's Eve fireworks and from 4th January until the 4th February twice daily.
With The Dubai Fountain as its stage and Burj Khalifa as the backdrop, the cultural showcase was a spectacular cascade of sound, fire and energy and a photographers dream.
The main aim of the creative was to produce a show to celebrate the diversity of Dubai and the eclectic mix that has turned Downtown Dubai into the Centre of Now. The story of the Energy travelling the world before reaching it's final destination at Burj Khalifa was the inspiration for the extraordinary visuals created. As a 210 metre long, extremely high resolution media, the impact of the images are breathtaking. A fundamental part of planning the lake show was ensuring a performance was created which would attract visitors from all over the world, as well as still being visually suitable for TV broadcasting.
A story including different natural elements -- that both showcases them and uses them as real effects in the show, was the solution. By making use of the amazing fountain and the waterworks a feeling of over and under water sequences could be created. Along with the music the visuals give a sense of diving into the lake and seeing the magical wonders of a secret life under the surface.
