They're still smitten! Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones put on the PDA as he picks up top honor at AARP’s Movie For Grownups Awards Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones marked their 15th wedding anniversary last November, but they sure seemed like honeymooners at this event. The couple had that special glow as they arrived hand-in-hand to the AARP's Movie For Grownups Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday. Michael, 71, had eyes only for his beautiful wife Catherine, 46, who stunned in a strapless jumpsuit with red and black top and slim-fitting black trousers.
Catherine was certainly radiant on this night with her long burnished dark hair spilling over one shoulders. Michael looked dapper in a dark blue suit with white shirt and burgundy tie. The Romancing The Stone star has exhibited a new lease on life since battling stage 4 tongue cancer, now in remission.
The pair also went through a separation in 2013, as Zeta Jones struggled to get a handle on her bipolar disorder, but eventually reconciled. 'It took work on both our parts,' Michael said of his marriage in an interview with AARP The Magazine. 'I don't think there's much chance of fixing a relationship if one of you is already out the door.' Catherine chimed in: 'I think we're both mellower and wiser. That comes naturally with time. We count our blessings.'
And how wonderful it was that Michael is the recipient of this year's AARP Movie For Grownups Career Achievement Award. Bette Midler opted for a luxurious black velvet gown with square-cut neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. The Rose star treated her blonde bob with rosy highlights that gave her overall appearance a special glow.
Elizabeth Banks slipped into a four-toned, two-piece number that was definitely the most different here. The Hunger Games star's dress included a close-fitting top with crescent cut-out and a ruffled tea-length skirt. And adding height to that dramatic picture was Elizabeth's amazingly coiled topknot. Phylicia Rashad was lovely in purple shimmery embossed coat over a black belted dress
Paula Poundstone suited up in a black suit with satiny lapels and black shirt brightened by a wildly printed tie. Host Kathy Griffin showed off her slender figure in a black gown with sheer details around the neckline and waist. Lily Tomlin wowed in a classy black blazer over extremely flaring trousers.
Patricia Clarkson wore an interesting sleeveless frock with lace-up bodice and sheer panel stripes running horizontal. Bryan Cranston - who picked up the Best Actor award for Trumbo - attended with wife Robin Dearden. Both Cranston and Robin were well-coordinated with he in a black suit and narrow tie and she in a black and blue-printed dress.
Blanca Blanco wore a canary yellow modern-looking gown with flowery sleeves. TV personality Stephanie Bauer wowed in an eye-catching scarlet dress with one sleeve and an artsy angled decolletage. Dick Van Dyke and wife Arlene Silver were super sharp, she in a clingy navy dress with light blue straps and he in a dark suit with taupe tie.
Bruce Boxleitner and fiancee Verena King were a team in black with the brunette beauty's gown shimmering with sequin details. Actor Carl Weathers looked snappy in a tailored black suit with light blue shirt and deep blue tie. Actor Robert Forster did the same except wore his dark suit and blue tie with a white shirt. Actress Kat Kramer borrowed everything from the designer's book in an outfit that boasted one billowy sleeve, fringed necklace and silvery clutch. Rita Moreno dazzled in a red gown with short black jacket and unique jewelry.
